As many times as I've been to Yosemite, I've never seen it with fresh snow. So when I saw that there was going to be a gap in the storms I snagged a spot at Yosemite Valley Lodge and headed over there.
There had been a ton of snow over the previous few days. As I arrived it was clear, so after putting on chains I headed right into the park.
And this is what welcomed me!As part of my exploring I headed over to Curry Village. Wild to see it like this! This is the little pedestrian trail heading from Curry Village towards Housekeeping. See how thick the snow is!Before long the snow started absolutely dumping again. I got covered while moving the car. After a while the snow stopped falling and I shot out the door to have a look around.
There was basically nobody around, so I had the place eerily to myself.
Walking toward Yosemite Falls I was treated to this amazing view.Absolutely amazing to see the place like this.
In an incredible stroke of luck, they closed the park (danger of falling trees) just after I entered. So when I woke up to the promised blue sky day in the morning there was basically nobody around. Unbelievable.
There was enough snow that morning that I couldn't leave the valley. But it was more that beautiful enough walking around the valley floor.I really enjoyed watching the sun slowly take over from the Sentinel Bridge area.Add caption here...
