Over the years the group has done several fantastic trips to Autocamps. For this trip we returned to the Yosemite version.
We take turns cooking for the group. As usual we made Nasi Goreng for our dinner. It's always so delicious after hiking and heats up really well in the cast iron skillet.Rochelle taught us how to make "spider dogs" which I predictably LOVED. As you grill them these cut ends curl up.We'd long ago bought this huge bottle at auction with the Mays, and it was fantastic to finally tuck into it.The Mays brought along this Jaffle iron which was easily the hit for deserts. Nutella and berry jam toasted in bread!Things begin in the forests along Mirror Lake. Before cranking up the hill out of the valley. The view back down the valley as we headed up.Once we were down we headed directly to Curry Village for the customary beer and pizza. We made sure that when the others arrived (Jules turned back early, and I ran ahead and then back) they had some waiting for them.I've long been wanting to do the Panorama Trail (Strava, AllTrails) and we finally made it happen on our second day. The views really did not disappoint.Just a few weeks ago Jules and I hiked up past those waterfalls.A well named trail! This has to be one of my favorite ever vids of Jules.A perfect spot to cool off and relax.Add caption here...I made my way over to the other side of the pond, not far from the waterfall. The view of the falls as we began to hike back out.More fab views on the way up the hill. The view from Glacier Point absolutely always delivers. We made our way back into the valley and set up for some relaxation and beers alongside the river. Fantastic. We adore this spot on the bridge. And then we were off again! Driving through the dry, open fields towards our next stop in Paso Robles.
